It's guys, not ladies, who splurge on lunch
Mon Jan 23, 2012
I'm way too frugal to spend that much eating out more than every couple of weeks.
Is favoritism rampant where you work?
Fri Sep 9, 2011
Exactly, I've worked with someone who knew nothing, but was very adept at brown-nosing and got ahead that way. I'm in disbelief that people play into that. I don't play the games - I just work hard, deliver quality work on time, play well with others, and don't create any unnecessary drama.
What do you think of self-checkout lanes?
Fri Jul 8, 2011
They're fantastic, unless you get stuck behind the people who don't know how to check themselves out. If it confuses you, don't use it.
What is your strategy on light bulbs?
Mon Jan 24, 2011

Firms raising the stakes to counter 'Ferris Bueller sick days'
Fri Dec 10, 2010
That's the way to do it - I don't know why more employers don't offer that type of 'time off'. I rarely get 'sick' - I'll have an occasional cold, but I'll go into work because a case of the sniffles doesn't seem to be enough to keep me home. So I have over 30 days of 'sick time' …
Is it OK for little boys to dress up as girls?
Mon Nov 8, 2010
My husband is on it, travis, don't you worry.
Do you think civility is dead? Or more alive than ever?
Mon Nov 1, 2010
I wouldn't say civility is 'dead', but it's definitely ill. All you need to do is go to my bus stop in the morning. 30 people waiting in a nice orderly line, but there are always a handful of people who will just crowd the front and shove their way onto the bus.
